How carphedon.com handles evidence
This site writes about a molecule wrapped in legend and marketing. That position demands stricter editorial discipline, not looser: these are the rules every page follows.
Evidence selection
This site prefers primary literature, regulatory lists and official records. Vendor marketing material is excluded from the evidence base — and where a famous claim traces to marketing (the Mir medical-kit quote), the claim is presented as an anecdote with its sourcing shown. Every reference is verified against the original source before publication; the bibliographic data on this site was live-verified against PubMed, the WADA Prohibited List and PubChem on 2026-08-15.
Use of primary sources
Every scientific claim links to the original source — PubMed records, the WADA list, PubChem, IOC and news archives — and the references library states, per source, what it supports and what it does not show. Citation markers throughout the site resolve to that library, so no claim floats free of its evidence.
Established findings versus open questions
The site maintains an explicit boundary between what the record establishes and what remains open. The IBMP development purpose, the DAT pharmacology and the WADA status are documented; human pharmacokinetics, in-flight cosmonaut use, long-term safety and human performance effects are open questions, and they are labelled as such wherever they appear. A dedicated research-status page carries the standing not-known list.
Balanced reporting
Unfavourable and neutral findings are displayed at the same prominence as favourable ones. The single double-blind trial is reported with its mixed outcome — including the 40% of patients in whom the drug did not reduce the negative effects of standard therapy — beside the positive subgroup result; the tolerance signal and the Cochrane null for the racetam family are given full space.
Conflict-of-interest disclosure
carphedon.com is published by Panacea Bio Chem Scientific Communications — that interest is declared on every page. Panacea Bio Chem does not make, sell or distribute phenylpiracetam; its own research is ongoing and exploratory, never merged with the published clinical literature, and no Panacea result in this area exists or is claimed. Where cited external studies carry limitations, the limitation is stated beside the citation.
Educational status
Every page carries the standing line: nothing here is medical advice, and nothing here is for sale. The full statement of purpose and boundaries lives on the research-status page, and a concise version appears in every footer. The site offers no products, no testing services and no clinical services.
Corrections
Dates on this site are real: the “last evidence search” date changes only when the references have genuinely been rechecked. Factual errors, when identified, are corrected in the content and reflected in the page modification date. Corrections are welcome through the Panacea Bio Chem contact page.
